Wondering how to make an overpayment with Bluestone Mortgages?

If you choose to pay more than your minimum monthly mortgage payment or decide to pay a lump sum payment to help reduce your outstanding balance, Bluestone Mortgages will walk you through the process to ensure that you are aware of any *Early Repayment Charge (ERC) or any restrictions on the maximum amount you can overpay each year, you can find details of any ERC payable in your mortgage offer.

*An ERC is a fee for ending a mortgage early, such as redeeming in a three-year fixed deal after just one year or deciding to pay a lump sum to reduce the mortgage balance.

If you want to repay your mortgage in full here's how...

Paying off your mortgage in total – also known as a mortgage redemption – can be done anytime. However, you might need to pay an early repayment charge (ERC) and other applicable fees.

If you want to pay your mortgage in full, please email us at customersupport@bluestonemortgages.co.uk. We’ll send you a redemption statement showing the total amount you must pay, including recent payments, interest charges, ERCs, and other fees.

You can also ask for a redemption statement over the phone at Yes, we can easily change your due date (after your first mortgage payment is made after completion on the 1st) from the 2nd to the 28th of the month. Just give us a call at 0800 368 1834, and we can arrange this over the phone.. If your mortgage is approaching the end of its term, we’ll automatically close it after your final payment. We’ll also refund any money you’ve overpaid.

The ERC will be calculated and applied on the date we receive your payment from you or your solicitor; our redemption statement clearly shows when the ERC period ends and what percentage of ERC will need to be paid. The example below illustrates a 5-year fixed product and the percentage of ERC charged each year during this fixed period. Please check your redemption statement or ask your solicitor to check. Moving the redemption by a day or so may save you money.

Year Date Start Date End Rate %
1 12/03/2020 11/03/2021 3
2 12/03/2021 11/03/2022 2.5
3 12/03/2022 11/03/2023 2
4 12/03/2023 11/03/2024 1
5 12/03/2024 11/03/2025 0.5

Please be aware that an ERC runs from the day your mortgage is completed, not when you receive your mortgage offer.

Can I request a change to my monthly payment date?

Yes, we can easily change your due date (after your first mortgage payment is made after completion on the 1st) from the 2nd to the 28th of the month. Just give us a call at 0800 368 1834 or email customersupport@bluestonemortgages.co.uk, and we can arrange this.
